It was the end of June and we could fish in a t-shirts and shorts. Unfortunately the cloud of bugs that followed made for some itchy moments. TRAVERSE BAY IN NOVEMBER
The air was crisp but the sun was shining, making this middle of November day
feel comfortable as I headed the boat downriver. A 20 kilometre south wind

As I headed north from Oakburn on Provincial road #577, I couldn't help but
wonder if I was going to find the lake I was looking for. A couple of days earlier

Cross Bay is legend among walleye anglers in the know here in Manitoba. Lodge
owners don't publicize the fishery, nor do the anglers who head up there every

It took a couple of hours to get all my fishing gear packed, more time actually than
